Abstract:

This paper discusses the possibility of using low-cost camera's and single-board computer modules1 for building a full body 3D Scanning system with the purpose of creating mini-figures / 3D selfies of people, both adults and kids. The design, architecture and results of a 3D scanner based on the Raspberry PI camera and the advantages over a DSLR based system will be discussed.
